Hog Roast Crook Served A Satisfying Feast At A Farm Show!

Hog Roast Crook Living in the North East is a true foodie’s dream! Surrounded by rolling countryside and an endless supply of fresh, locally-grown produce, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to top-quality ingredients. Did you know there are over 190,000 farms in this region alone? That’s a whole lot of deliciousness! At Hog Roast Crook, we’re proud to work closely with local farms, making sure every bite we serve is as fresh and flavourful as possible.

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of supporting a nearby farm as they hosted their highly-anticipated agricultural show. And what a day we had! This wasn’t just a gathering for farmers and agriculturalists; it was a full-blown countryside extravaganza that brought the entire community together for a day of fun, learning, and, of course, mouth-watering food.

The event had something for everyone. Little ones squealed with delight on pony rides, while thrill-seekers put their strength to the test in the hay bale stacking competitions. The sheepdog trials were a sight to behold, with expert pups showing off their skills and leaving the crowd in awe. Agricultural equipment exhibits gave visitors a glimpse into the latest farming innovations, and sports competitions kept the energy levels high. With so much going on, it’s no surprise that everyone worked up quite the appetite – cue Hog Roast Crook to save the day!

Hog Roast Crook Our catering team arrived early to prepare a feast fit for the occasion. At the heart of it all was our legendary slow-roasted pig, cooked low and slow over real flames. The result was juicy, tender meat that practically melted in your mouth, paired with that oh-so-satisfying crispy crackling. To round out the feast, we served up classic sides: sage and onion stuffing, tangy applesauce, and soft gluten-free and wholemeal rolls.

For our plant-based guests, we didn’t hold back! Our vibrant veggie kebabs were a hit, packed with juicy mushrooms, sweet bell peppers, courgettes, and cherry tomatoes. Those who fancied an extra treat opted for the halloumi upgrade, adding a salty, creamy twist to their skewers. Served with warm flatbreads and a refreshing tzatziki dip, they were just as popular as our signature hog roast!

As the day went on, it became clear that Hog Roast Crook was a crowd favourite. The queue at our stall never seemed to shrink, and by the time the event wrapped up, our pig was picked clean, and our trays of sides were scraped empty!
