Don’t you just love weddings? The heartfelt speeches, the coming together of loved ones, the romance, and of course, the incredible food! There’s truly nothing like it. And with wedding season just around the corner, Hog Roast Alnwick is gearing up for an exciting few months, catering for happy couples all over the North East.
Our diary is jam-packed with wedding celebrations, but the fun has already begun! Just last weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of catering for Olivia and Matt’s big day, and what a day it was!
Leaning into the beauty of the season, Olivia and Matt chose pastel tones for their wedding palette, creating a soft, romantic atmosphere. Their venue? An 18th-century, Grade II listed country house nestled within a 400-acre estate, complete with whimsical rose gardens, manicured lawns, and vaulted ceilings that bathed the space in natural light. It was straight out of a fairytale, and we couldn’t have been more honoured to be part of it.
From the moment Hog Roast Alnwick arrived, we were hard at work, ensuring that every dish was prepared to perfection. As the couple exchanged vows and their guests wiped away happy tears, our team was busy behind the scenes, crafting an unforgettable feast.
When the newlyweds made their grand entrance into the dining hall as Mr. and Mrs., we leapt into action. Our serving staff ensured each guest was greeted with a glass of fizz and a selection of hand-crafted canapés. The nibbles included roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, pan-seared fillet of beef, smoked Scottish salmon, chicken liver parfait, and delicate mini quiches.
With everyone settled and the toasts made, we rolled out the starters – homemade soup with fresh bread rolls and creamy butter. Then came the show-stopping main course where guests were invited to indulge in our signature hog roast with crispy crackling and all the trimmings, succulent roast chicken with chipolata sausages, or BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls served with crisp salads, creamy coleslaw, and decadent dauphinoise potatoes.
And, of course, no wedding is complete without dessert! Our profiteroles drizzled in rich chocolate and delicate tarte au citron gave everyone something sweet to sink their teeth into.
As the celebrations continued well into the night, our team quietly cleared the dining area, ensuring everything was left just as we had found it. Another magical wedding, another happy couple, and another unforgettable feast courtesy of Hog Roast Alnwick!
