The temperature has now dropped dramatically cold mornings with a slight frost in the air perfect weather for some nice hot hog roasting food! And lots seem to agree as going by the requests of orders we have received in the last few weeks it seems all are in the same frame of mind. Hog Roast hire were out on Sunday kitted with hats and gloves and doing an out door event for a festival we love cooking out door in the cold as soon as the machines are on its like a little fire and we are then too hot! These is something quite magical about out door catering in the cold it just seems so special as if what hog roasting was designed for. We were catering for three hundred and pig was order of the day with some delicious crackling an apple sauce too all crammed in a soft bun delicious! The pig looked spectacular as it was gently spinning away and the smell was amazing we were in ore of the meat and felt so proud when everyone came over to take a closer look and all said that they couldn’t wait to taste the meat when the meat was just about cooked we then began our magic of making the cracking we make such special crackling what we do is score the skin with a sharp knife then add some oil and then we rub rock salt and special herbs and spices that gives the crackling the unique taste we blend our own herbs and spices and that is what makes our crackling so unique. Hog Roast Hire were son carving the meat and plating it up for the guests to help them selves and make the most delicious sandwiches we were given compliments the whole day and just what everyone needed on a chilly day it really hit the spot we also brought with us a huge urn and made some tea and coffee we really know how to please our guests and the day went really well and as we headed home we felt such satisfaction and must say we get so much enjoyment out of hog roasting…
