Some birthdays are allowed to slip by quietly. A 60th is definitely not one of them.

Lindsay knew this, which is why the moment Mark’s milestone started approaching, she went all in. No half measures, no casual dinner – she was determined to pull together an unforgettable celebration that matched the significance of the occasion from start to finish.
First, the setting. West Grange Hall ticked every box Lindsay had in mind. Built in the 1800s, this ten-bedroom stone country house carries the kind of character that can’t be manufactured – exposed stonework, rolling hills stretching out as far as the eye can see and a remote, tucked-away quality that makes the whole place feel like a secret worth knowing about. It feels luxurious without being stuffy, and for Lindsay, that was exactly the vibe she was going for.
Then came the food, because, as we all know, a party isn’t complete without great catering. And that’s where Hog Roast Morpeth stepped up to the plate – so to speak. Our catering manager Brian worked closely with Lindsay ahead of the event and between them, the menu came together quickly. When you’ve got a setting like West Grange Hall to fill, a whole hog roast is usually the answer, and that’s exactly where they landed.
Fast-forward to the day of the event, Hog Roast Morpeth arrived on-site early, giving the hog all the time it needed to cook through properly. The warm weather nudged things along nicely, and by the time Mark and his 25 guests were ready to dig in, we were ready to start serving them. True to form, Mark and Lindsay were first in line to fill their plates – though not before a quick photo with the hog. I mean, you’ve got to, don’t you?
The guests quickly followed their lead, excitedly pairing their hog roast rolls with fresh and colourful salads and mixed fries, while others tucked into juicy marinated chicken thighs or our dedicated meat-free option.
Since the event, we’re happy to share that Lindsay has left Hog Roast Morpeth a glowing five-star review, which is honestly the best compliment we can ask for. We’re so glad that she and Mark had a brilliant evening – and we’re even more glad to have played an important part in it.
