Over the last year and a half, so many weddings have been cancelled or postponed across the country due to lockdowns and social distancing measures. Are restrictions have now eased, many couples are using this as a time to host their big day and enjoy a ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Hog Roast Gateshead recently catered for a beautiful October wedding, and this is the menu that we provided…
Chris and Daryll had to reschedule their wedding 4 times before finally getting to celebrate their big day, due to the pandemic causing restrictions on life events. Chris contacted our catering manager Steve to enquire about our catering menus, requiring something that would be ideal for 140 guests- including 10 vegetarians. Hog Roast Gateshead have many versatile menus and we decided that our Classic Hog Roast menu would be ideal for the occasion, provided with a meat-free option.
On the day of the ceremony, the Hog Roast Gateshead team arrived at St. Mary’s Heritage Centre in Gateshead with plenty of time to prepare for the 20:00 mealtime. We began by slow-roasting the hog, ensuring that it was packed full of natural juices and flavours. For vegetarian guests, we provided grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. The main dishes were served with fresh mixed salad and crunch coleslaw, as well as a mixture of sweet potato fries and home cooked chips. This created a delicious and varied menu, with something for every guest to enjoy.
We served the catering on wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery, which was the ideal level of formality for the event. This wedding reception was a great event to cater for and it was lots of fun to be part of Chris and Daryll’s big day. wedding catering is always a blast and this is no exception.
