Moving to university for the first time is a big achievement for students, but it can also be nerve-wracking and scary. The first night spent there can be scary as they are living in a brand new place with new people. To help break the ice, why not host a ‘moving in’ party for your halls of residence? Recently Hog Roast Aycliffe catered for a party organised by a university in the North East, and this is how it went…
The university halls opened on the 1st of September, welcoming many new students to university life. For many, this was their first time living away from home so there were lots of different emotions to experience. To help make the transition as smooth and exciting as possible, the staff had organised a welcoming party for the first night, with the help of a Hog Roast Aycliffe BBQ! We needed to provide catering for 250 students, so a delicious BBQ was an ideal way to break the ice and get them settled in.
The party began at 7 and our catering team arrived in advance to prepare and cook the dishes. Stephen from Hog Roast Aycliffe began by preparing the main dishes, including succulent sausages, juicy British beef burgers, marinated chicken kebabs, BBQ spareribs, and halloumi and vegetable skewers. The mains were served with fresh bread rolls and wraps, gluten-free rolls, home style chips, crunchy coleslaw, and seasonal salad. This created a tasty and balanced menu with many dishes to choose from, allowing the students to create their ideal meal. Our catering went down a treat and was the perfect addition to a night of singing, dancing, and making new friends.
