Mandy, Jen & Steven made the 2-hour journey to do a hog roast at Ford Castle in Northumberland on Sunday.
Ford is a picture-postcard village on the English / Scottish Border, and the amazing castle overlooks the Flodden battlefield. The event was a 65th birthday party, and entertainment & activities for the guests in the castle & grounds included archery, zip-wiring, climbing and a tour of the castle including the dungeons. We served the hungry crowd in a stunning ancient hall, with whole slow-roasted hog & accompaniments, buttered new potatoes & salads – plus fresh fruit platters for afters with our compliments. The guests were hungry & cold after all their activities the hog went down a storm, with many returning for seconds & thirds.
It was a lovely party, in a beautiful setting & surrounding countryside, and the sun was still shining as we took our leave. It was a real pleasure visiting Ford & we’d love to return any time! So next time you want a hog roast at Ford Castle please get in touch.
